Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute, a specialist institution dedicated to real estate education and supported by Ganesh Housing Corporation Limited, has received approval from All India Council for Technical Education, marking a major milestone in the formalisation of real estate education in India.
With this approval, GREMI becomes Gujarat’s first AICTE-approved institute exclusively focused on the real estate sector and is set to welcome its first academic batch in August 2026.

Addressing the Talent Gap in Real Estate
India’s real estate industry is evolving rapidly as urbanisation accelerates and projects become larger, more complex, and increasingly regulated. Despite the sector’s growing importance, structured and industry-oriented education in real estate development and management has remained limited.
GREMI has been established to bridge this gap by creating a multidisciplinary talent pipeline equipped with expertise in development, finance, urban planning, governance, and technology.
The institute is associated with Mahamati Skill and Education Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation incorporated under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. The foundation was envisioned by Shekhar Patel and operates independently with support from associated entities and family trusts.
Industry-Integrated Campus and Curriculum
GREMI will operate from its city campus at Million Minds Tech City, enabling students to gain direct industry exposure alongside academic learning.
The academic model is designed to reflect the interconnected nature of modern real estate, where successful decision-making requires cross-functional understanding and strategic thinking.
Leadership Vision
Commenting on the approval, Shekhar Patel said, “India’s real estate sector is entering a phase where the expectations from urban development are far more nuanced and future-focused. GREMI has been envisioned as a platform that nurtures professionals who can respond to this shift with both technical depth and a broader understanding of the ecosystem.”
He described the AICTE approval as a significant step toward creating an institution that is rigorous, relevant, and globally aligned.
Anil Kashyap, former Chancellor of NICMAR University, added, “Our goal is not just to create industry-ready talent, but also to contribute to research, policy dialogue, and innovation in the built environment.”
Flagship Program Launching in 2026
GREMI will introduce its flagship Post Graduate Certificate in Real Estate Development and Management (PGCM) with a founding cohort of approximately 70 students in 2026.
In parallel, the institute has applied to the University Grants Commission for Deemed University status and plans to establish a 100-acre integrated teaching, research, and residential leadership campus.

Building the Future of Real Estate Education
The establishment of GREMI represents an important development for India’s real estate ecosystem. By combining academic rigour, industry integration, and long-term capability building, the institute aims to strengthen the professional and research foundation of one of the country’s most significant economic sectors.
As the industry continues to expand and modernise, institutions such as GREMI are expected to play a crucial role in preparing the next generation of real estate leaders, policymakers, and innovators.
