Mumbai: Deep-tech company Enlite has secured its second Indian patent for a technology designed to simplify the commissioning and operation of intelligent buildings by enabling the cloud-based configuration and management of building management controllers.
The patent, titled “System and Method for Cloud-Based Configuration of Building Management Controller(s),” covers Enlite’s proprietary framework for centrally configuring and managing building management controllers through a secure cloud-based system.
The technology addresses one of the more time-intensive aspects of building automation: configuring field devices across multiple sites. Traditionally, engineers have had to visit individual locations and manually configure controllers. Any subsequent operational changes could also require the configuration process to be repeated on site.
Enlite’s patented system shifts this process to a cloud-native framework, allowing controller configurations to be created, modified, tested and deployed remotely from a centralised platform. By digitising configuration workflows, the system is intended to reduce commissioning timelines, minimise manual intervention and enable building automation projects to be deployed more efficiently across multiple locations.
The system also incorporates capabilities for remote maintenance, real-time synchronisation, version control and configuration management. These features allow building operators to maintain consistency in building operations across properties in different locations while improving accuracy and operational efficiency.

The technology is expected to have applications across commercial buildings, airports, hospitals, industrial facilities, educational campuses, hospitality properties and data centres. These facilities rely on building management systems that can be operated securely and scaled across multiple locations.
With its second Indian patent, Enlite is expanding its intellectual property portfolio as it continues to develop domestic technologies for smart infrastructure and building automation. The latest patent builds on the company’s focus on cloud-based configuration and centrally managed systems for intelligent buildings.
