New Delhi: Magicbricks and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) India Pvt. Ltd. have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on real estate research, market studies and indices, combining Magicbricks’ structured real estate data with RICS’ research and industry expertise.

The non-commercial partnership, signed on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, will focus on producing research-led insights and facilitating knowledge sharing across the real estate sector.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will work on co-authored research reports, white papers, market studies and real estate indices. The initiatives will incorporate statistical and economic analysis, while the MoU also allows for additional research and knowledge-sharing projects by mutual agreement, including initiatives involving RICS affiliates such as the RICS School of Built Environment.

The collaboration assigns distinct responsibilities to both organisations. Magicbricks will provide clean and structured real estate data and take the lead in preparing reports. RICS and its affiliate will review the outputs, validate the findings and contribute analytical inputs.

The organisations will also jointly plan the release of research outputs, with potential engagement involving academia, policymakers and industry stakeholders.

Prasun Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Business Head, Magicbricks, said, “The real estate sector is increasingly driven by credible data and deeper market understanding. This collaboration with RICS brings together Magicbricks’ real estate data with RICS’ research and analytical expertise to develop structured insights through research reports, indices and market studies. The partnership will support more informed conversations across the real estate ecosystem.”

The research outputs developed under the partnership will carry co-branding based on an agreement between the two organisations. RICS may also facilitate report launches through its platform, while both organisations may coordinate releases with relevant industry and policy events.

Data Protection and Intellectual Property

The MoU includes provisions governing the handling and protection of data. Data provided by Magicbricks will remain its sole property, while shared data will exclude sensitive personal information, including names, contact numbers, addresses and email IDs.

Raw data cannot be made public without prior written consent from Magicbricks. Data handling under the collaboration will comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.

For jointly developed outputs, including research reports, indices, white papers and market studies, intellectual property rights will be jointly owned by Magicbricks and RICS. RICS, however, will retain rights to its underlying methodologies and analytical frameworks.
