Pune: NAREDCO Maharashtra is set to advocate for investment commitments exceeding ₹10,000 crore in Indian real estate at its Real Estate & Infrastructure Investors’ Summit 2026 (REIIS 2026), scheduled for 3 September in Mumbai. The summit will focus on strategic capital, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, PropTech and global investment partnerships.
The event comes as India’s real estate sector continues to expand its role in economic activity, employment generation, capital formation and urban development. The sector, which reached a market size of $650 billion in 2025 and contributes 7.3% to national GDP, has been projected in the source material to potentially reach $10 trillion by 2047, with its GDP contribution expected to rise to approximately 20% in the coming decades.
REIIS 2026, themed ‘RE-Defining India’s Growth Story,’ is intended to facilitate discussions around foreign and domestic institutional capital flowing into Indian real estate. The summit will also feature the announcement of an International Business & Finance Center (IBFC) in Nagpur by the Government of Maharashtra, positioning the proposed development as a new regional business and financial hub.

The proposed Naveen Nagpur IBFC will span 1,710 acres. Speaking about the initiative, Shri Sanjay Meena IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, NMRDA said, “Naveen Nagpur IBFC is envisioned as a landmark development that will create a new business and investment destination for Nagpur and Central India. Spread across 1,710 acres, it will offer integrated infrastructure and a complete business ecosystem for corporates, GCCs, startups and financial institutions. As NMRDA, our focus is to develop Naveen Nagpur with quality infrastructure, efficient governance and a strong investment environment, strengthening Nagpur’s position as a major economic destination in Central India.”
The investment agenda comes against the backdrop of infrastructure-led development across Maharashtra, including Mumbai 3.0, transit-oriented corridors and urban redevelopment. NAREDCO Maharashtra is also seeking to attract capital from international institutional investors across markets including Japan, Korea and the Middle East. The broader target comprises ₹10,000 crore in foreign direct investment and domestic institutional capital.
REIIS 2026 will bring together policymakers, global and domestic institutional investors, banking executives, developers, AI and PropTech companies and other real estate stakeholders. Discussions will examine capital flows, urbanisation, alternative financing, technology adoption and strategies for expanding investment into India’s built environment.
The day-long programme will begin with a Power Breakfast on “Mumbai 3.0: The Innovation City”, followed by an AI and PropTech Pavilion. Panel discussions will cover alternative capital, cross-border expansion, AI integration and new approaches to real estate liquidity.
JLL India is also scheduled to release an exclusive report on redevelopment in Mumbai at the event.

The investment backdrop is supported by continued institutional activity in Indian real estate. According to JLL India, transaction volumes reached USD 1.7 billion in Q1 2026, representing a 37% year-on-year increase. Core asset acquisitions rose 178% to USD 1.03 billion, while core asset transactions had reached USD 1.48 billion in the first month of Q2 2026. JLL said the increase points to continued investor interest in stable, income-generating assets despite global macroeconomic uncertainty.
REIIS 2026: Key Investment and Market Focus
The summit’s agenda will centre on three broad areas: attracting institutional capital, accelerating technology adoption and examining infrastructure-led urban development.
Foreign Direct Investment: NAREDCO Maharashtra is projecting ₹10,000 crore in foreign investment inflows into Maharashtra’s real estate and infrastructure projects in FY27.
PropTech and AI: The AI and PropTech Pavilion will showcase applications including automated property management and technology-enabled construction efficiency.
Mumbai 3.0 and Infrastructure: Discussions will examine urban transit corridors, industrial zones and redevelopment strategies as Maharashtra’s infrastructure network evolves.
