New Delhi: The recent order of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has brought greater legal clarity to the matter involving Entertainment City Limited (ECL), with Bhutani Group saying it is prepared to work with Unitech and other stakeholders to support the redevelopment and revival of the project.
Located in the Delhi-NCR region, Entertainment City is spread across approximately 147.4835 acres and includes several of the region’s prominent entertainment and lifestyle destinations. The development houses The Great India Place (GIP) Mall, Gardens Galleria Mall, Worlds of Wonder Theme Park, WOW Water Park, KidZania, hotels, retail spaces and other entertainment facilities.

The project has long been regarded as one of North India’s prominent leisure and entertainment destinations. The latest legal development could now provide a basis for stakeholders to shift their focus towards the future redevelopment and revival of Entertainment City.
The NCLT, New Delhi Bench (Court-II), recently passed an order in favour of Parmesh Construction Company Limited (PCCL), directing Entertainment City Limited to register, in its Register of Members, the shares transferred by minority investor shareholders to PCCL. Bhutani Infra Group is part of Parmesh Construction Company Limited.
The order follows years of legal proceedings concerning the project. Bhutani Group said the development provides an opportunity to move beyond prolonged disputes and focus on unlocking the potential of Entertainment City through redevelopment and revival.
The Group also acknowledged Unitech’s contribution to the conceptualisation and establishment of Entertainment City as an entertainment destination. It expressed confidence that the project could regain its potential with the participation and support of all stakeholders.
According to Bhutani Group, a collaborative approach could help reposition Entertainment City as a world-class destination spanning entertainment, tourism and lifestyle offerings. The Group has reiterated its willingness to engage with Unitech and other stakeholders to work towards the project’s future development.
The proposed redevelopment plans could include the following:
- Modernisation and redevelopment of existing entertainment infrastructure.
- Development of world-class theme parks and next-generation entertainment attractions.
- Expansion and enhancement of Worlds of Wonder and other existing attractions.
- Creation of new family entertainment zones and experiential retail destinations.
- Development of premium hotels, fine dining venues and modern hospitality infrastructure.
- Creation of public plazas, cultural centres and state-of-the-art event venues designed to support year-round programming.
- Integration of smart technologies, sustainable development practices and world-class infrastructure to establish Entertainment City as a modern mixed-use entertainment and lifestyle destination.
