Mumbai: WeWork India Management Limited (“WeWork India”) has announced the signing of five large-scale, long-term lease agreements across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, adding over 700,000 sq. ft. of Grade A office space as part of one of its largest expansion drives in the country.
The expansion will add approximately 12,000 desks across five developments and further strengthen the company’s presence in South India, one of the fastest-growing office markets in the country. With this addition, WeWork India continues to scale its operations, currently spread across 37 centres in the region.

The five new centres include WeWork Embassy TechVillage 8C, WeWork Vista Earth Centre, and WeWork Infinix Palladium in Bengaluru; WeWork Phoenix H10 in Hyderabad; and WeWork Embassy Splendid in Chennai. These centres are being developed through long-term lease agreements ranging between 10 and 20 years, reflecting sustained demand for flexible workspace solutions and increasing collaboration between operators and institutional landlords.
The expansion is being executed in partnership with key landlords including Embassy Office Parks, Madhu Ventures & Vista Spaces, Inspira Builders and Phoenix Group Hyderabad, highlighting a broader shift in the office real estate market where asset owners are aligning with established workspace operators to cater to enterprise demand.
Karan Virwani, Managing Director & CEO, WeWork India, said, “The South is not just a regional story, it is central to India’s next phase of enterprise growth. Bengaluru remains one of the world’s most dynamic technology markets, Hyderabad is scaling at an exceptional pace, and Chennai is emerging as a key hub for global delivery and financial services. Our decision to sign leases across five buildings, spanning over seven lakh square feet, reflects both our conviction in these markets and our ability to execute at scale. This is a long-term commitment, aligned with the sustained, structural demand we are seeing from enterprises adopting flex-first workplace strategies. At WeWork India, we are building the infrastructure for how India’s leading organisations will work in the decade ahead.”
Industry data indicates that Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai together account for nearly half of India’s gross leasing activity, driven by the expansion of global capability centres, technology firms, and multinational corporations adopting flexible workspace strategies.
