New Delhi: Greenply Industries Limited, one of India’s leading interior infrastructure companies, has launched TermiVax, which it describes as one of India’s first vaccinated anti-termite plywood solutions powered by advanced nanotechnology. The company has also filed a patent application for the technology, which is designed to provide lifetime protection against termite damage, particularly in damp and wet conditions where infestations tend to intensify during the monsoon season.

The newly introduced technology marks a shift from conventional anti-termite solutions that largely depend on surface treatments. According to Greenply, the nanotechnology-based formulation penetrates throughout the plywood during the manufacturing process, providing protection across the entire board rather than remaining limited to the surface. The company says this approach is intended to inhibit termite growth and reduce the risk of damage to furniture and interior applications over the long term.
For years, termite protection in plywood has primarily relied on surface coatings or chemical treatments applied after installation. While these methods can offer temporary resistance, their effectiveness may diminish over time because of cutting, drilling, moisture exposure and regular wear and tear.
By embedding termite protection directly into the plywood during production, Greenply aims to deliver a more durable and dependable solution for residential, commercial and institutional projects. The company added that the product has been tested and approved by IPIRTI (Indian Plywood Industry’s Research & Training Institute).
