Interarch Opens Heavy Structural Steel Plant in Andhra Pradesh

Mumbai: Interarch Building Solutions Limited inaugurated a new heavy structural steel manufacturing facility at Attivaram, Andhra Pradesh, on 24 September 2026, expanding its manufacturing capabilities for complex steel structures used in industrial and infrastructure projects.

The facility is designed to serve sectors including high-rise construction, data centres, semiconductor and electronics facilities, renewable energy projects, electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and large industrial developments. The expansion broadens the company’s capabilities beyond conventional pre-engineered building (PEB) applications.

Spread across approximately 20 acres, the facility’s Phase 1 has around 25,000 sq. m. of built-up area and an initial manufacturing capacity of 25,000 metric tonnes per annum. It is equipped with specialised machinery sourced from technology providers in Europe and India to support precision fabrication and the production of complex heavy structural members.

The remaining land has been earmarked for Phases 2 and 3, with civil works for Phase 2 currently underway.

A key capability of the new plant is the fabrication of large-sized hot-rolled sections and plate girder structural members. These components are designed for projects with demanding engineering and dimensional specifications, allowing the company to address requirements that extend beyond conventional steel building applications.

The facility also strengthens Interarch’s manufacturing presence in South and West India. Its location in Andhra Pradesh, near industrial clusters, ports and major transportation networks, is expected to support the movement of raw materials and finished structures to project sites.

The new plant adds to Interarch’s existing manufacturing infrastructure at Attivaram. The company had previously commissioned Phase 2 of its PEB facility at the location, with an installed capacity of 25,000 metric tonnes per annum and an investment of approximately ₹32 crore. The latest inauguration further expands the site’s role in the company’s steel construction operations.

Mr. Arvind Nanda, Managing Director, Interarch Building Solutions Ltd, said, “The inauguration of our Attivaram facility marks a significant milestone in Interarch’s evolution as a comprehensive steel construction solutions provider. India is entering a phase of accelerated industrial and infrastructure development, creating demand for steel structures that are larger, more sophisticated and engineered for greater performance. This facility strengthens our ability to participate in that opportunity with enhanced manufacturing depth and a broader portfolio of capabilities. Our focus is not simply on adding capacity, but on building the technological and execution capabilities required to support the next generation of industrial and infrastructure projects.”

Mr. Gautam Suri, Whole-Time Director, Interarch Building Solutions Ltd, said, “Attivaram represents a significant advancement in our heavy structural steel manufacturing capabilities. The facility brings together advanced machinery, precision fabrication and specialised manufacturing processes to address structural requirements that demand a high degree of engineering accuracy and execution excellence. From heavy structural members to complex assemblies, our objective is to deliver consistent quality at scale while meeting the increasingly demanding specifications of modern construction. This capability will enable us to take on more complex projects and translate innovative structural designs into efficiently manufactured, high-quality steel solutions.”
