New Delhi: Ramacivil India Constructions has undertaken a ₹166 crore infrastructure project for the construction of an 800-bed boys’ hostel at Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad in Jharkhand. The project forms part of the institute’s campus expansion plan aimed at strengthening student residential infrastructure.
The development involves a 10-storey hostel building designed across a planned campus area of approximately 21 acres, with a built-up footprint of around 5.53 acres. The project is being executed in phases and includes the hostel in Phase 1 along with additional residential developments in subsequent phases.

According to project details shared by the company, the hostel has been designed by Benjamin Benjamin and Vats Architects Engineers and Urban Planners. Ramacivil India is executing the project as the construction partner.

The 800-bed boys’ hostel is planned as an integrated residential facility with academic support infrastructure. The ground floor will house administrative offices, a Warden Room, a visitor waiting area, a Building Management System (BMS) room, and a Fire Control Room. Student amenities include a cafeteria, two TV rooms, an indoor recreation area with table tennis facilities, landscaped courtyards, and three badminton courts.
The structure includes washrooms with accessibility provisions, bicycle and two-wheeler parking spaces, an underground water tank, and designated drying balconies across floors. Each residential wing is planned with 10 rooms per floor, accommodating 20 beds per wing to reach the total 800-bed capacity.
The ₹166.20 crore project strengthens Ramacivil India’s portfolio of institutional infrastructure developments and supports the continued expansion of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad as a premier technical institution.
