New Delhi: Loom Solar has secured a second land allotment from the Government of Uttar Pradesh to expand its solar module and battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing capacity.
The company has been allotted a 33,400 sq. m. (approximately 8.25 acres) plot at Industrial Model Land Corporation (IMLC), Meerut. The allotment was formalised at Lok Bhawan, Lucknow, in the presence of Yogi Adityanath and Industrial Minister Nand Gopal ‘Nandi’ Gupta.

This allotment is separate from Loom Solar’s existing 7.5-acre facility in Kosi, Uttar Pradesh, where a 1.2 GW solar module manufacturing unit is under development. The two facilities together expand the company’s manufacturing footprint in the state.
The Meerut facility will focus on solar module manufacturing and is expected to support a high-throughput production line. Both units will operate independently while contributing to the company’s multi-GW manufacturing roadmap.
The expansion is aligned with India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, and is aimed at supporting growing domestic demand for solar energy.
Commenting on the development, Amod Anand, Co-Founder and Director, Loom Solar, said,
“India’s energy independence will be built in factories, aligned to its policies and resolve. This land allotment by the Government of Uttar Pradesh — a separate, dedicated facility at IMLC Meerut — strengthens our manufacturing backbone across both solar modules and BESS solutions. Alongside the 1.2 GW Kosi plant, it gives Loom Solar the infrastructure to meet India’s multi-GW demand trajectory with fully indigenous capacity. We are grateful to the UP government for their decisive support, and we remain committed to translating that trust into jobs, output, and energy security for the nation.”
The company stated that the expansion aligns with national initiatives such as Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, ALMM regulations, and Domestic Content Requirements (DCR), aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports.

In addition to solar modules, Loom Solar is expanding its BESS portfolio for utility-scale and distributed applications to address grid stability requirements.
The dual-facility strategy across Kosi and Meerut is expected to generate employment across engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and related sectors, while reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s position as an industrial investment destination.
